Remember Remember the 5th of November.
The 5th of November has traditionally been a night to celebrate Guy Fawkes being caught in the Gunpowder plot .
The tradition of the bonfires in local down squares is said to have began the same year as the failed coup, and progressed over the yea
rs to effigy being burnt on the bonfire and now huge firework displays.
Historian’s have also suggested that bonfire night has origins in a pagan ritual, there has been accounts of bonfire being lite around the Scottish highland’s to mark the first days of winter and winter festivals around the country which were reclaimed as bonfire Night.
We hope all those celebrating the 5th of November with a bonfire, mulled wine and fireworks wrap up warm and enjoy their evening!
